Details
Pemberton can make some excellent Chardonnay, with this cool part of WA having just the right amount of sunshine and cool nights to deliver rich-but-snappy wines. With a careful mix of vanilla bean oak, fresh white peaches and a little nougat, this Byron & Harold offers up a whole array of classic Chard flavour, too, and delivered with a sense of liveliness.

We love a rising star here at Good Pair Days, and Byron & Harold definitely fit the bill when it comes to rapid and blazing ascendency. This WA winery has already made some serious waves on the scene, with their earliest vintages back in 2015 picking up accolades, awards, and dedicated fans right across the region and beyond. While there’s doubtlessly been no shortage of blood, sweat, mud, and tears since then, founders Paul Byron and Harold Dunning have made the whole thing look impressively easy, continuing to produce fantastic and characterful wines that really do live up to the hype. Focusing exclusively on the coolest of cool climate regions, primarily in and around Margaret River, Byron & Harold work with fruit that exudes the utmost in elegance, coupled with the kind of refreshing, laid back drinkability we all love to settle down with at the end of the day. With a superb portfolio of delicious wines, each with a character and flavour profile as memorable as their names, Byron & Harold’s star continues to rise… and we’ll drink to that!

Wine region
Pemberton, Australia
Pemberton, WA is a region of great beauty. Vivid green forests, wetlands, rivers, waterfalls, and towering karri trees, you name it! While nature is tough to follow, the rolling vineyards, 200km south of Perth, is a close second! The Pemberton wine region is cooler than Margaret River, making it possible to produce excellent quality Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc as well as fresher styles of Chardonnay. Pinot Noir has shown great promise too! The region is relatively small and young (established in 1977) with a handful of wineries, but it has wasted no time building a respectable reputation at wine shows and restaurants. Some of the most well-known wineries in the Pemberton region include Picardy, Pemberton Wines, and Wills Domain.
