Details
Elegant, crisp and juicy, this organic Chardonnay from Zilzie’s Butterfly Kiss is brimming with all the things we’ve always loved about cool-climate Chardy: cashew nut oak, white peach and lemon zest fruit aromas, white blossom florals, and mid-palate weight with a gorgeous zingy minerality to finish off. Welcome back to the limelight Chardy!
Through consistent dedication and tireless work for over a hundred years and four generations of family, and with backbreaking perseverance under the scorching Australian sun, the Forbes family have followed their instincts with various agricultural pursuits. In the early 1980’s Ian & Roslyn Forbes converted the property to the Zilzie vineyards. Sunny days, mild nights, star-filled skies and fertile soils have been the ideal growing conditions for the 1700 acres of vineyards planted on the Zilzie property, but they have also reached beyond their boundaries to seek exceptional parcels of fruit from some of Australia’s best known wine regions, including the Adelaide Hills, Barossa, Coonawarra and Yarra Valley. The Butterfly Kiss wines are crafted from parcels of fruit nurtured in the Forbes’ organic-certified vineyard, made using environmentally sustainable farming and minimal intervention winemaking techniques. Classic varieties, juicy wines, organic and vegan. What’s not to love?

Pairing guide
Beautifully fresh and undeniably elegant, this organic Chardonnay offers no shortage of depth - perfect for those seeking wine that doesn’t shy from making a statement! As for food pairing, you’ll adore this bottle alongside creamy pork pasta dishes, baked or poached salmon, vegetable risotto, and anything piled high with smashed avocado. Coconut or cashew-based curries will work a treat, and it’s also great with ham and cheese combos and salads with grains, white meats, and unctuous dressings.

Wine region

Victoria, Australia
Victoria is the second smallest state but is home to more regions and individual wineries than any other state in Australia. This is thanks to the diversity of regional and micro climates, that allow for the every imaginable wine style under the sun, from stylish and refined Chardonnay (Beechworth) to brooding, finessed Shiraz (Heathcote); intense and complex Pinot Noir (Macedon Ranges) to unique and decadent fortified (Rutherglen), you’ll find a wine to suit any occasion from the diverse regions of Victoria.
