Details
Just quietly, Sangiovese can make some really interesting rosé, and always leaves a berry trademark. This Bruno & George wine is pretty fresh too, with a little red and blackberry fruit, but mainly lovely freshness and a gentle textural edge.
The name doesn't suggest it, but Bruno & George wines is actually about three mates. Bruce, Christian and Josh. All three of them come from wine families, so you can roll out the old cliche that wine is in their blood. The trio are seriously experienced too, having made wines or grown grapes in 100 countries across 65 vintages worldwide, only to all settle back in the Barossa (because why would you want to leave?). Interestingly, the Bruno & George wines go off the usual Barossan script too, with red grapes like Montepulciano, Sangiovese, as well as the classic faves like Grenache and Shiraz. Oh, and the boys are proud to have quite a library of back vintage wines in their museum collection, just to emphasise how well these interesting Barossan wines look after a few quiet years ageing.

Pairing guide
The berry edge to this cleverly savoury and refreshing Barossan rosé makes it such a delight. Perfect for sunny day dining, picnics, barbecues, and lunch dates, it’s absolutely delicious with a massive array of salads, pasta dishes, and appetisers. Beautiful with tomato ragu, stunning with charcuterie, and perfect with lamb and duck dishes, this wine really knows how to delight the senses! It’s also going to be great with a caprese salad, Middle Eastern dishes featuring grains and pomegranate seeds, and fried veggie favourites like falafel and grilled halloumi.
