Details
Now with a few years in the bottle to settle down, this medium-bodied red blend has the plummy generosity of the Shiraz plus the blue fruit highlights from the Malbec. It's plump, plummy and just a little chocolatey, with a style that is all about acres of fruit flavours and then some velvety tannins to finish things off.
For the majority of you who are enamoured with winemakers with what must seem to be a perfect job compared to boring office jobs or a tradie and the folly of all their clients who think they could do a better job! Well owning a winery is a combination of office work and a job where plenty of people tell you what they think of your booze, good or bad. For Cathy and Neil who make Boots & All, the name is never more apt with their roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and honest approach. Cathy is the winemaker and Neil handles the logistics of day to day winery operations and they certainly give it their boots and all. Their main operation is for their main winery, Whicher Ridge, yet this label has been made in partnership with the Good Paid Days team. So, to people like Cathy and Neil who give it their all and at least at the end of the day, they don’t have to go searching too hard for a good glass of wine.

Pairing guide
The coming together of Shiraz and Malbec in a single delicious red blend is always a cause for celebration, and this bottle from Boots & All is an absolute champ when it comes to delivering a real taste sensation. We loved it with char-grilled meat and vegetable dishes, especially Korean BBQ beef and mushroom creations, and it’s also going to be excellent with leg of lamb, homemade burgers, meatballs and classics like bolognese and lasagna. Delicious!

Wine region

Geographe, Australia
Geographe is a wine region located in the South West region of Western Australia (40 minute’s drive Northeast of Margaret River). It has a Mediterranean-style climate with warm, dry summers and mild, winters, which is ideal for growing grapes. The soils are predominantly sandy loams, providing good drainage and nutrient levels for the vines, and some vineyards have access to the permanent water table 15m below.
It is known for producing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz. Compared to nearby Margaret River, Cabernet Sauvignon from Geographe tends to have distinctly fine gain and lingering tannins. The region has seen a rapid growth of boutique producers in recent years, aided by its proximity to Geographe Bay, which is home to a world-class food and wine scene, but attractions like Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and gorgeous seascape panoramas.
