Details
The ‘Endless Yarn’ sure has some personality, just like any old mate at a pub chewing your ear off. The Shiraz has plenty of bright red plums working their way across the bar and then there is a waft of spice, like the pasta at the salad bar. The finish is as loud as the publican for a call of last drinks with a touch of vanilla and tannin grip.
For the majority of you who are enamoured with winemakers with what must seem to be a perfect job compared to boring office jobs or a tradie and the folly of all their clients who think they could do a better job! Well owning a winery is a combination of office work and a job where plenty of people tell you what they think of your booze, good or bad. For Cathy and Neil who make Boots & All, the name is never more apt with their roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and honest approach. Cathy is the winemaker and Neil handles the logistics of day to day winery operations and they certainly give it their boots and all. Their main operation is for their main winery, Whicher Ridge, yet this label has been made in partnership with the Good Paid Days team. So, to people like Cathy and Neil who give it their all and at least at the end of the day, they don’t have to go searching too hard for a good glass of wine.

Pairing guide
Boots & All have done a fantastic job of capturing the character and expression of their stunning Shiraz grapes in this bottle, and we love how well it pairs with some of our favourite foods and dishes. Pulled pork and shredded lamb dishes will work especially well, and it’s stunning with the smoky flavours of beef or cured pork with plenty of paprika and aromatic herbs like rosemary. Smoked tofu and seitan, grilled eggplant and red capsicum, bean and lentil stews and mushrooms are excellent vegetarian options, too.

Wine region

Geographe, Australia
Geographe is a wine region located in the South West region of Western Australia (40 minute’s drive Northeast of Margaret River). It has a Mediterranean-style climate with warm, dry summers and mild, winters, which is ideal for growing grapes. The soils are predominantly sandy loams, providing good drainage and nutrient levels for the vines, and some vineyards have access to the permanent water table 15m below.
It is known for producing high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Shiraz. Compared to nearby Margaret River, Cabernet Sauvignon from Geographe tends to have distinctly fine gain and lingering tannins. The region has seen a rapid growth of boutique producers in recent years, aided by its proximity to Geographe Bay, which is home to a world-class food and wine scene, but attractions like Busselton Jetty, Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and gorgeous seascape panoramas.
