Rueda is often noted as being one of the three R regions in Spain - Rioja, Ribera and Rueda. Rueda is well-known for Verdejo, and the Viña Albina Verdejo is a classic example, with lemon and grapefruit notes, poached pear, and an underlying herbal finish. Bodegas Riojanas is one of Rioja’s great heritage wineries, proudly crafting wines that capture the soul of this iconic Spanish region. Founded in 1890 in the historic town of Cenicero, the estate has spent more than a century perfecting the art of Rioja winemaking—balancing tradition, patience, and a deep respect for place. While the company has roots in Rioja, it has expanded to include estates in Rueda, Rias Baixas, Ribera de Duero and Toro, as well as dipping its toes in the waters of Bierzo, Cava and the wonderful world of Vermouth. There is a lovely mix of tradition and creativity in the wines, with Rioja showcasing the traditional side and Toro showcasing the playful nature of the various brands.
