Details
This is a charming rosé from the Alicante region in southeastern Spain made from Monastrell, arguably the most prolific grape in the region. Organic, this pink displays a fabulously smoky nature, with mineral, almost gravelly tones running from top to bottom. Lovely purity and focus, great with food.
The Bodegas Pinoso team is an odd team, you have the affable Irish man, David, who is great at chatting about all things wine with his dreamy accent, but don’t let that fool you as he slips into effortless Spanish when chatting to Miguel, the other half of their team. The winery is based in sunny Alicante, where they have a strong focus on organic management in the vineyard. Pinoso's vineyards are planted at an average of 600m above sea level. This elevation makes for cooler nights allowing their fruit to retain that all-important acidity needed for a balanced wine. The focus of Pinoso is Monastrell (AKA Mourvèdre or Mataro) which is well suited to warm climates and plenty of sun. They make delicious and colourful red and pink wines from this key variety as well as a mix of other varieties in the white space, including the ultra rare Merseguera. We recommend these delicious wines with some jambon or semi-hard cheese.

Pairing guide
Made from bold and vibrant Monastrell grapes, this delicious and vividly-coloured rosé wine is sure to make a big impression! It’s a fantastic wine for pairing with barbecued meats, especially chicken thighs and pork chops and sausages. This rosé will also work brilliantly with a rack of lamb or duck breast, served nice and pink with a fruity sauce. Pasta dishes featuring slow-cooked tomatoes and punchy ingredients like olives, capers, and anchovies will work very well, as will smoked charcuterie, offal, and anything with lots of garlic.
