Details
This wine is jam-packed full of rich, ripe blackberry fruit and a lovely herbal, liquorice undertow. Plenty of freshness on the palate here, with a lovely soft grip and really juicy acidity. This is the perfect BBQ wine and would go down nicely slightly chilled.

The Bodegas Pinoso team is an odd team, you have the affable Irish man, David, who is great at chatting about all things wine with his dreamy accent, but don’t let that fool you as he slips into effortless Spanish when chatting to Miguel, the other half of their team. The winery is based in sunny Alicante, where they have a strong focus on organic management in the vineyard. Pinoso's vineyards are planted at an average of 600m above sea level. This elevation makes for cooler nights allowing their fruit to retain that all-important acidity needed for a balanced wine. The focus of Pinoso is Monastrell (AKA Mourvèdre or Mataro) which is well suited to warm climates and plenty of sun. They make delicious and colourful red and pink wines from this key variety as well as a mix of other varieties in the white space, including the ultra rare Merseguera. We recommend these delicious wines with some jambon or semi-hard cheese.

Pairing guide
Made from luxurious and flavourful organic Monastrell and Petit Verdot grapes, this gorgeous bottle from Bodegas Pinoso really captures that Iberian passion for great red wine. It’s going to pair fantastically with roasted and barbecued pork - the rougher and fattier the cut, the better in our opinion - and with pulled pork preparations served with pickles and slaw. Pretty much any grilled meat will hit the spot, and it’s also a top match for homemade meat or lentil burgers, pizza, smoked cheeses, and root veggies cooked with aromatic Mediterranean herbs.
