Details
High altitude vineyards produce quality Grenache fruit for this wine. Fruit-driven, with waves of sweet red fruit and candies. Easy drinking, generous and yet graceful. It is elegant and precise, with earthy flavours on the back palate that expand and captivate. Great drinking.
The food, the people and of course the wine of Spain… Master of Wine Giles Cooke is a big fan of all of them. He has led a distinguished winemaking team to craft a range that illustrates the brilliant potential of Rioja, Navarra and La Mancha as well as the quality of fruit that these regions can deliver when respectful, sustainable techniques are maintained. Drawing on the revered, in-depth knowledge of Paul Shinnie and the technical skills of Marta Juega Rivera, these wines offer a tantalising taste of contemporary Spain. Over a decade’s worth of dedication, travel and experimentation have culminated in the creation of Aurkitu. Responding to the need for a more sustainable future, the winery harnesses the best vineyards to produce wines that are connected by a similar spirit of adventure, experimentation, creativity and commitment to sustainable wine production.

Pairing guide
Ah, Grenache - it’s got to be one of the most reliable red wine styles out there when it comes to food pairing, and this gorgeous bottle from Aurkitu hits all the right notes. We love this wine with roasted chicken thighs or whole roast chicken, and it’s going to be fantastic with topside of beef, slow-cooked pork stews, and rack of lamb or barbecued chops, too. Sausage casseroles, cassoulet of duck and beans, and rustic French favourites like ratatouille will work wonders here!
