Details
There's nothing shy about this full-bodied red! Chock full of round and chocolate berry flavour, with spearmint and a little Eucalpyt, this bold Barossan has deep plum and blackberry fruit with a lovely roundness that comes with seven years of ageing. Oh yes, this is one seriously chunky wine!
Origin: France, historically, particularly the SW Languedoc region. Mainly Grown In: These days, Australia is recognised as THE place for Cabernet Shiraz or Shiraz/Cabernet Blends, making arguably the best wines in the world. Key Facts: Cabernet meet Shiraz. It's a match made in heaven! Cabernet Sauvignon adds tannin and a green herbal character, with plenty of heft. Then along comes Shiraz with its mid-palate roundness to fill in all the flavour holes the strict Cabernet can't quite cover. With their powers combined, these grapes make what is always a big mouthful of wine. Fun Fact: Australia's most famous wine, Penfold's Grange, is a classic Shiraz/Cabernet blend!

Pairing guide
When you bring Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz together in a blended red wine, you just know you’re onto a real flavour bomb of a bottle. This bold and boisterous red definitely deserves some big, in-your-face ingredients to stand up against, and we reckon it’s a spot-on pairing for a roast beef dinner with all the trimmings, dishes that make great use of gamey meats, offal preparations, and cuts like oxtail, brisket, and hanger steak. Wild mushrooms, truffle, and eggplant are also always going to fit the bill with this one!
