Details
A clean and crisp Chenin Blanc that's got some weight while still tremendously refreshing! Yellow apples, quince and lemon zest with a soft touch of lanolin and chamomile. It's medium body is juicy, pulpy and refreshing before finishing on a note of tonic. Great stuff.

Origin: Anjou, in the Central Loire Valley in France. Mainly Grown In: South Africa actually leads the way these days, with nearly twice as much Chenin planted as France. USA and Argentina also have a lot. Key Facts: You know that friend who just seems to do everything well? They are an artist, and athlete, and wait, what — they also code? Well, that’s pretty much Chenin Blanc, quite possibly, the world's most versatile grape. It’s famous for world-class dry table wine, sweet wine, sparkling wine, and in some parts of South Africa, distilled into brandy! However, most on the market today are dry wines — like this delicious drop! The style of the flavours of dry Chenin Blanc depends on the climate it is from (warm or cool) but, one thing's for sure, it almost always has flavours of apples, delicate white flowers, and beeswax complimented by sky-high acidity. Fun Fact: Historical records at the Abbaye de Glanfeuil (outside of Saumur in the southern part of Anjou) indicate Chenin's cultivation in 845! Holy Grandpa!

Pairing guide
Chenin Blanc’s back, baby, and in this bottle by Ashton Winery, it’s showcasing some seriously impressive flavours and aromatics. Luxurious yet eminently drinkable, this beautiful Chenin is going to pair really well with pork, chicken, and turkey dishes - especially those with a sweet and sour element - and will also work really nicely with fried Asian tofu, Sichuan dishes, and anything that puts ingredients like cabbage, cauliflower, and carrots front and centre. Delicious!
