Details
Their high altitudes and commitment to organic agriculture ensure that the Artemis wines are fresh, fragrant and harmonious. This youthful Pinot Noir is exuberant and full of dark red fruit, like cherry and strawberry, whilst retaining a long line of lip-smacking acidity to keep things fresh.

In the Artemis Winery there hangs a photo. The photo is of a tiny little church, sitting in a little village overlooking the peaceful bay of Juliana in Croatia. The land this little church sits on was given to the church by the grandfather of the winemaker brothers, Anton and Mark. This photo was the inspiration for their logo and goes a long way to explain their winery's ethos - a mix of their love for the old country's traditional old-world style, with their love of the technological advancements of modern Australian wine making. Today Artemis is committed to crafting high quality wines from their unique site in the Southern Highlands of NSW. Taking a distinctly refined approach, they believe flavour is key to everything, and are guided by flavour ripeness of the grapes in the vineyard, as opposed to raw numbers and data. This yields lush wines with plenty of charm, and their hands-off, small batch winemaking style complements this wonderfully. Wonderful wines.

Pairing guide
Silky, elegant, and amazingly versatile when it comes to food pairing, this Pinot Noir from Artemis is an absolute winner when it comes to dinner time. This delicate yet flavourful red is going to pair very nicely with duck dishes (especially pan-roasted duck breast or stews like cassoulet), lamb shanks and rack of lamb, roast poultry, rare beef steak and classic stews like boeuf bourguignon. However, it’s also delicious with tuna steaks, roasted salmon, Spanish-style fish and paprika stews, Indian classics like chicken tikka masala, tomato ragus… the list just goes on and on!

Wine region
Southern Highlands, Australia
Southern Highlands is located on the coast of NSW near our capital city, Canberra. The region is a classic cool climate region with ocean influences. There are a broad range of boutique wineries that produce a range of wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as Pinot Gris. Southern Highlands is still a relatively new region however it has a point of difference with the combination of high altitude and ocean influences which is exciting for the future ahead.
