Details
Martin and Anna Arndorfer make some of the most flavoursome Grüner Veltliners we've ever tasted - lush with fruit and yet built around a core of zesty acidity. This 'Handcrafted' bottling is classic Grüner - green apple, white pepper and radish, with a mineral kick on the finish. Herbaceous and alive, a great bottle.
Martin and Anna Arndorfer were both brought up in winemaking families, so they would've had to have worked hard to avoid the life of winemakers. Luckily for the drinkers of the world, they didn't. They now live and work in Martin's families winery, in the village of Strass, in the northern Austria region of Kamptal. Martin's wines have a focus and delineation that is rare - they certainly don't lack for stuffing, but are poised along a backbone of acidity and soil expression. A mix of slate, granite, gneiss and loess exists around Strass, and these tones are clearly evident in the wines. Amongst his prestige wines, Martin's vintages in Italy and Burgundy and experience with raising wines in barrel is evident, but never in place of purity and deliciousness. These are wines of freshness and detail, and are all lovely to drink.

Pairing guide
They really don’t get much fresher, zestier, or brighter than this wonderful Grüner Veltliner from Arndorfer, which once again proves the sheer majesty and underrated charm of this timeless Austrian varietal. We absolutely love this wine with noodle dishes - noodle salads, pho, ramen, and Chinese takeaway creations alike, and it adores being paired with punchy, spicy flavours such as ginger, chilli, and tamarind. Sushi will work well, as will breaded and fried chicken, white fish, green leafy salads, and homemade spring rolls.

Kamptal, Austria
Kamptal is located in Northwest Austria ,known for producing high-quality white wines, particularly those made from Grüner Veltliner, the region has a unique climate that allows grapes to ripen perfectly. The soils are mostly loess-based, giving the wines a distinct character and minerality. You'll find small, family-run wineries that produce limited quantities of wine, which are highly sought after by wine enthusiasts. The region also offers stunning views of the Danube river and the surrounding vineyards, making it an ideal destination for wine tourism.
