Details
Made using the classic sparkling grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this light coloured fizz has some fresh strawberry fruit and a little floral pink flourish, backed by green apples and a just a little creaminess at the edges. Striding that careful line between being so fresh and so clean, but also with some pretty fruit, this is a real fizzy winner.
The Anvers story starts in Belgium in 1983, where owners Wayne and Myriam Keoghan first met. Indeed, the name Anvers pays homage to Myriam’s hometown of Antwerp. That's probably where the Belgian influence stops, however, as the wines here are very much modern Aussie styles, all sourced from the sustainably-run Anvers vineyard, located not far from the Mt Bold Reservoir in the Adelaide Hills. But the wines here have a split personality too, as the Anvers Vineyard straddles the border between McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills, and that means you can still get cool and fresh sparkling wines, but also lavish and big boned reds. Choose your drinking adventure, right? That means Gamay, Barbera or fine Chardonnay, as well as full-bodied Shiraz and even a fortified red. Stir in a wonderful on-site restaurant serving local ingredient heavy cuisines, and you've got a great excuse to find a way to Kangarilla

Pairing guide
Sparkling wines that introduce a little more fruit to the mix, like this Anvers bubbly, are so much more entertaining than yet another crisp and flavourless aperitif style. We especially like this with fresh, smoked and fried fish, whether it's salmon on toast, fried white fish in a tempura batter, or a fresh and creamy seafood pasta. It's a wine that also works with lightly roasted nuts like walnuts or cashews, and the extra fruit means this sparkling can also handle a bit of spice too (especially when its ice cold).

Wine region

Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges
of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
