Details
This Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir is medium-bodied, with deep, dark cherries dancing alongside oaky tones that draw out subtle spice and dark chocolate. The palate is bright to start with, before the earthy, dark cherry tones draw you back in and leave you wanting another sip.

The Anvers story starts in Belgium in 1983, where owners Wayne and Myriam Keoghan first met. Indeed, the name Anvers pays homage to Myriam’s hometown of Antwerp. That's probably where the Belgian influence stops; however, the wines here are very much modern Aussie styles, all sourced from the sustainably run Anvers vineyard, located not far from the Mt Bold Reservoir in the Adelaide Hills. But the wines here have a split personality too, as the Anvers Vineyard straddles the border between McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills, and that means you can still get cool and fresh sparkling wines, but also lavish and big boned reds. Choose your drinking adventure, right? That means Gamay, Barbera or fine Chardonnay, as well as full-bodied Shiraz and even a fortified red. Stir in a wonderful on-site restaurant serving local ingredient-heavy cuisines, and you've got a great excuse to find a way to Kangarilla.

Pairing guide
This is a beautifully layered Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir that deserves food with a little thought behind it. Roast duck with a cherry sauce, a classic duck confit or a slow-roasted pork belly with apple and herb stuffing are all wonderful starting points. The earthy, spiced character also makes it a natural with a wild mushroom and thyme risotto, a warm lentil and roasted beetroot salad or a seared salmon with a light herb butter. For something more relaxed, a charcuterie board with soft creamy cheeses, some dark chocolate and a little fruit on the side is a quietly brilliant match that lets the wine's depth do the talking.

Adelaide Hills, Australia
The Adelaide Hills wine region, located in South Australia's Mount Lofty Ranges of South Australia is characterised by its high altitude, cool climate, and diverse soils, which all contribute to the unique terroir that produces elegant, complex, and expressive wines. The region's altitude ranges from 400 to 700 meters above sea level, creating a cooler climate than other wine regions in South Australia. The cool temperatures slow down the ripening process of the grapes, resulting in wines with high acidity, delicate aromatics, and elegant flavours. Top sub-regions are Lenswood, Piccadilly Valley, and Basket Range, each with unique microclimates and diverse soil types that produce singular wine styles, the highlights are Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and a whole lot more!
