Details
A wonderfully fresh and light rosé, redolent with wild strawberries, rhubarb and pomegranate flavours. It has a delightfully textural mouthfeel, backed by refreshing acidity that's reminiscent of biting into a pink grapefruit. Hints of vanilla keep things interesting.

Origin: The spiritual home of rosé is Provence, in Southern France. Mainly Grown In: Rosé is found all over the world these days, but coastal regions are especially well suited to the growing of red grapes for rosé. Key Facts: Rosé is predominantly made from red grape varieties. The colour in wine comes from the pigment found in the skins of the grapes, so even red grapes have clear-coloured juice. The colour is then ‘bled’ out of the skins by infusing the skins into the juice. So for rosé, the wine simply spends far less time hanging out with the skins! Rarely you will find a rosé that is a combo of white and red grapes – they’re not ‘less good’, just less common. Rosé is super versatile – it suits any occasion. Best to always have a bottle in the fridge, just in case, you know… Wednesday happens or something. Fun Fact: Rosé is made from red grapes, but without too much skin contact (mmm, sexy). The colour is wine comes from the skins, so without these, the wines only have a hint of colour.

Pairing guide
Straight from the beautiful Frankland River vineyards, this rich and fruity rosé - with its gorgeous pale pink hue - is sure to become a brand new favourite. As for food pairing, you can’t go wrong serving this crisp wine with a big bowl of fish or seafood stew or a Nordic salmon soup. In fact, salmon cooked in almost any style will hit the spot nicely, as will other more robust fish like tuna, barramundi or kingfish. Roast pork loin, fresh tomato dishes and grilled chicken thighs are also great options, as are stuffed capsicums, Mexican-style chicken dishes and salads featuring autumnal vegetables and pomegranate.

Frankland River, Australia
Frankland River is one of five sub-regions in Great Southern, Western Australia. The Great Southern as the name suggests is extremely large, spread out over 100 km north to south and 150 km east to west. Frankland River is located in the north-west part of Great Southern and is known for high quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling as well as recent movement towards Grenache, Tempranillo and other Mediterranean varieties. The region is relatively recent with plantings dating back to 1967 and by the 1980s wineries like Alkoomi and Frankland Estate were well established.
