Details
Bright by name and by nature, this blend is fresh, alive and full of character. It's made from three separate vineyards, all managed organically. The main fruit characters are pear and nettle and green apple compote. There's a grassy edge, but this doesn't detract from the round texture and fullness of fruit. The acid line is direct, but not stark. Complete and harmonious, this is light bodied but not a lightweight! A lick of white pepper spice on the finish is very appealing - plenty of interest here.....great drinking.

Ben Gould is a winemaker with a vision. But let's go back a step. To date, Ben has 18 vintages under his belt, but they aren't the easy vintages of a certain 'type' of winemaker - intergenerational royalty dictating orders to the those getting their hands dirty. No, Ben has done every level of job you could possibly think of when it comes to making wine. From handpicking grapes, to working in the winery, to making blending decisions, and all the cleaning in between! And his experience and hard work has paid off, as he has gradually worked his way into being one of the most important and influential organic grape-growers in Western Australia. Culminating in being named in the best of the best by the Gourmet Traveller WINE magazine in 2011. Most recently Ben has combined his passion for organic viticulture with financial nous, he and his wife Naomi, used crowdfunding to snap up a vineyard in the Margaret River region a few years back. The 50-acre vineyard in Quindalup, in northern Margaret River, will provide enough grapes for his entire range of organically-grown wines. Always looking for different varieties and techniques to play around with, Ben has experimented with wine-in-a-can, sparkling wines made from unusual varieties and a wide range of barrel aging. Expect more surprises from him in the future as he branches out into brewing and honey production! Bright by name and by nature, this blend is fresh, alive and full of character. Pairing guide
Such freshness and vitality in this wine - the acidity is really the driving factor, and this is what sets the tone for our food matching. The wine is tangy and fresh, and just cries out for fresh seafood like prawns, mussels, clams, most white fleshed fish and crayfish. The herbaceousness adds another dimension, and so you could easily pair it with sole cooked in brown butter with capers and thyme, or perhaps a dish of fresh prawns with lemongrass, kaffir lime, chilli and coconut milk.
