Vegan Delights
Going vegan
Did you know that a lot of wine isn't vegan? It's hard to imagine, but plenty of producers use animal byproducts in the winemaking process. These additions improve the look of the wine—they are used as fining agents to make the wine brighter and clearer. Recently, with the rise in popularity of veganism, some wineries now label their wines as vegan-friendly, which is helpful, but plenty of wine isn't labelled, so it's harder to tell. So, let's cut through the claims and show a few genuine vegan wine delights!
3 Proudly vegan wines
In this special pack you'll enjoy: Chain of Ponds Sparkling Chardonnay Pinot Noir NV So very fresh! That's the vibe with this lovely and light-bodied Adelaide Hills bubbly, which is so refreshing that you could almost shower in it (which is not recommended. Trust us). The Chain of Ponds Sparkling smells like fresh-cut white flowers, marzipan and citrus, with a taut and terrifically fresh palate of just ripe lemony vitality. M + B Wines 'Hilltops' Pinot Grigio 2025 Modelled on the beautifully fresh and crunchy Pinot Grigio wines you'd find in a Venetian canalside restaurant, this Pinot Grigio is light-bodied and driven by this lovely nashi pear fragrance and white fruit beauty. Ultra-refreshing, it's a really frisky white wine that couldn't be any more sunny if it tried. Raywell Wines Grenache 2022 Raywell Wines is our collaboration with Tim Adams, with an aim to provide the goods from Clare Valley. The Raywell wines always have a focus on structure and being able to drink them straight away. This Grenache is a perfect example with cherry berry spice and soft, plush tannins.
Interesting to note
Vegan wines last just as long as non-vegan wines. The animal products aren't used as preservatives, so vegan wine is equally as stable and long-lasting. Vegan wines are still made with grapes, just like any other wine, it's just that no animal products have been used at any stage of the winemaking process.
