Organic wine is simple. It's wine, but made from grapes that haven't been treated with synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers. Just naturally grown grapes! Importantly, organic grapegrowing and winemaking is a certified process, which means there is an extra degree of legal standards surrounding how a wine is made (and what's in or out). Interestingly, organic wine also has lower preservatives than non-organic wine, which is great if you have issues with sulphur in particular. Let's dive into a few organic wines!

3 wonderful organic wines

In this special pack you'll enjoy: Domaine Delmas 'Passion' Crémant de Limoux Brut Blanc NV The ‘Passion’ is a classic Crémant de Limoux, sourced from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc and Pinot Noir. After spending 18 months on lees, the result is a complex sparkling with preserved lemon, almond and brioche notes. It is an energetic sparkling with a clean and vibrant finish. Tenuta Bellamora Zibibbo 2024 Marsala, where the Tenuta Bellamora winery sits, is probably more famous for fortified wines than it is for bright, organic modern reds and whites, but it is here that we find some of Italy's greatest finds. Aromatic and sun-drenched, this Zibibbo brings serious island vibes. Orange blossom, followed by ripe grape and juicy mandarin - like a summer fruit stall by the sea. There’s a soft figgy richness underneath, adding a sultry edge to the zesty lift. Bright, breezy, and low-key lush. Best served chilled with good music and no plans. Bodegas Pinoso 'Costa Alicante' Monastrell 2024 This delightful range of reds from Bodegas Pinoso, which utilises Monastrell as their key variety, showcases all that is great about Spanish reds. There is a warm sunshine feel about this wine with cherry and red plum fruit notes, dried herbs and woody spice as well as a nice hint of liquorice.

Interesting to note

Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are prohibited in certified organic wine production. That applies to all parts of the process to, from vineyard to winery!
