Story

After moving from America over 25 years ago, Adriane McDermott ended up captivated by Sydney, with the Harbour City's 'energy, colours, and rhythm' helping convince her that it is where she wanted to stay.

Tanica came as Adriane wanted to create a spritz that celebrated local native flavours and craft a spritz that felt truly Australian and moving beyond the traditional imported Campari/Aperol traditions. What began as a side project quickly grew, and in 2022, Adriane partnered with a great distiller to make TANICA a reality.

Made with native Davidson Plum, which gives this spirit not only a lovely red colour but also a tart and juicy profile that feels just a little softer and fruitier than some other aperitifs. Cherries, some bitter herbs, and raspberry syrup, it's a super slurpable drink that is going to be a near-perfect backbone to a great spritz or wonderful with just a little soda and lime.

Roll out the full complement of snacks and nibbles, your new aperitif fave has arrived! Salty, oily, spicy and rich flavours will pair with this lovely sweet and bitter drink, with nuts, cured meats, cheese, olives, fried vegetables, spring rolls, tacos, spicy noodles, and anything that has some spice and heart is going to pair well, really. Oh, and naturally, if you blend it with some Aussie Prosecco and soda, you can make a pretty grand spritz as well.
