Story

Limonio has been bottling Sicilian sunshine since 1992, with the Russo family crafting a range of small-batch spirits from their organic estate in the Conca d’Oro valley, near Palermo in NW, using ingredients grown on the family farm.

The key focus for the Russo family is the Femminello di Zagara Bianca lemon, an ancient cultivar the family invested in two generations ago, believing it is a next-level citrus. White flowered, with a high concentration of oils in its skin. Not just lemons, either, the family make thirteen different liqueurs, including a world-first prickly pear liqueur (that we're fascinated to try).

This limoncello was the first to be produced and marketed in Sicily, made from the infusion of lemon peels from the Russo family's lemons, using an 'ancient and secret family recipe jealously passed down through generations'. You'll notice this seriously intense limoncello has a milky appearance due to the 'ouzo effect' known as louche or loosh, which comes from the high concentration of lemon oils. Needless to say, this powerful, unfiltered, organic Sicilian limoncello is quite the drink - a riot of lemony flavour!
