Story
Dangerous Ales is the beer project of Damien Martin, with these delicious brews crafted out of a small brewery in the Milton Hotel on the NSW South Coast. Damien is a bit of a legend of Milton, as he also co-owns the hotel and is the head chef of the Good Food Guide Chef Hat-winning restaurant (in his spare time).
A South Coast local, Damien grew up riding the crazy waves and developed a deep love for all things wild - from flavours to food and fermentation.
Just quietly, Martin has a wildly impressive food background, including training in Gordon Ramsay's kitchen in London and working at renowned establishments like Sydney's Quay and Morzine in the French Alps. However, his time at Margaret River's Vasse Felix winery which sparked his fascination with fermentation.
The Dangerous Ales releases are uniformly interesting, small-batch (our allocation was brewed specially for Good Pair Days) beers of different textures and flavours that we really like.
One of the newer members of the Dangerous Ales family, the Table Beer is a mid-strength in name but not in flavour, with all of the charisma of a more 'Dangerous' beer, but weighing in at just 3.5% alcohol.
Made with some modern Citra and Riwaka hops, this is a quite floral and citrussy beer with a pretty amazing balance between lightness and intensity. finishing crisp and with a much longer finish than any mid-strength beer should normally have.

PAIRING GUIDE
There’s something deliciously satisfying and comforting about this mid-strength beer from Dangerous Ales - it’s the kind of ale we can really see ourselves coming back to again and again, and we reckon you’re sure to feel the same! It’s a beer that calls for umami-rich dishes, so anything with plenty of miso or parmesan will do the trick nicely. Roast chicken legs in a buttery sauce, grilled pork sausages with mashed potatoes and onion gravy, savoury pies and lamb chops with glazed vegetables will also provide pitch-perfect matches to try.
