Details
This fab white jumps out of the glass with notes of bright stone fruit and a floral charm: white peach, melon, nectarine, jasmine, and a touch of grape and pear. Though it hints at some sweetness, it’s fully dry, with high acidity that keeps things fresh. It’s a breezy, blossom-filled sip with plenty of peachy appeal.
Origin: Spain. Mainly Grown In: Spain. Key Facts: Airén is arguably the world’s most prolific grape variety that you've never heard of. It is almost entirely planted in Spain, in particular across the La Mancha plateau where in the summer months, it gets super warm, and Airén has the ability to cope with the heat very well, without losing too much acidity. It is traditionally used for much of Spain’s brandy production (which is why you might not have heard of it before) but when it is treated well and given the respect it deserves, it has the ability to make easy-drinking and approachable white wines that blend well with a number of local, and more international grape varieties in Spain. Fun Fact: Airén is often used in the production of Spanish brandy, where it is distilled, instead of fermented.

Pairing guide
This wine's floral aromatics and soft stone-fruit core make it perfect for dishes that are gentle, fragrant, and fresh. Try grilled chicken with nectarine and basil salsa, or pan-seared trout with a white-peach and lemon dressing to highlight the wine’s juicy stone-fruit notes. A spring risotto with peas, mint, and lemon zest also plays beautifully with its floral lift. For a vegan option, go for roasted apricot and almond couscous with herbs - the sweet-savoury fruit and delicate nuts complement the wine’s jasmine, blossom, and peachy character.
