Details
This is a wonderful, lively Graciano from the talented team at Zorzal. There are vibrant notes of red cherry that combine with an attractive, slightly charred fruit character up top. This has plenty of grip and length on the palate, with waves of acidity complimenting those firm, but fair tannins. A super example of Graciano!
Viña Zorzal are one of Navarra's most exciting wine producers. Ran by the three Sanz brothers, this estate has become a leader in the regeneration of old vineyards within the region. In terms of grape varieties, Navarra is home to many of the usual suspects you would expect in Spain, with Garnacha and Tempranillo leading the way. But it is not unusual to find more international varieties such as Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon planted here. Zorzal however, have made it their mission to focus on arguably the most successful grape in Navarra: Garnacha (Grenache). They work with old vineyards at high altitude to deliver wines of outstanding freshness and concentration. These are some of the best value wines we have found in Navarra and always punch well above their weight. Most recently the Sanz's have launched the impressive 'Sea of Dreams' label in partnership with one of our favourite supply partners: Indigo Wines. This range is a shining example of what can be done in Navarra when it comes to 'lo-fi' winemaking. The production is organic, and only natural yeasts are used for fermentation.

Paired with punchy savoury dishes of spiced lamb, smoky brisket and chorizo it truly comes into its own, so don’t be shy with your flavours when cooking with this wine in mind! Cajun and Creole cooking will work particularly well, as will barbecued red meats and vegetables, and gumbo-style stews and casseroles will also make a perfect match.
