Vaucluse Chardonnay 2024
Grape Type Pronunciation: "shar-don-ay"
Primary flavours

Details
The Vaucluse blanc is sourced from Chardonnay and it is evident that they have produced a nice, unoaked Chardonnay with all the necessary requirements. There is a nice peaches and nectarine feel that will have you thinking you are at a summer fruit and veg stall. Behind all this stone fruit, the texture is soft and acid supple.

The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also has employed sommeliers to taste each wine to confirm it meets that all important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted through a large range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality in each bottle. The Vaucluse range is their focus on the Rhone and Languedoc regions with Chardonnay and Grenache featuring in their wines.

Pairing guide
A blend of stunning Rhone Valley white wine varieties, this bottle from the ever-exciting Vaucluse winery is sure to delight the senses and provide plenty of satisfying moments. It’s fantastically versatile as well as delicious, too - we loved it with a classic dish of stuffed chicken breast and mashed potato, but it’ll be equally good with mac ‘n’ cheese, spinach and avocado combos, crab cakes and pork chops with chermoula. Grain-based salads, green vegetable medleys and fillets of bass or bream with lemon and herbs would also provide fabulous taste sensations.
