Details
There is plenty to love about this delightful wine from Valsé. From top to bottom, this fizz is laced with sweet red berry character, keen acidity and vivacity, with a hedonistic drop of sweetness on the finish (but it's still reasonably dry).

The Veneto is the kind of place that ruins you for everywhere else - ancient vines, dramatic landscapes and a winemaking culture so deeply embedded it's practically in the water. Valsé calls this corner of north-east Italy home, and it shows in every glass. Their approach is rooted in a genuine respect for the land: working with the region's finest varieties, letting the terroir do the heavy lifting and staying out of the way just enough to let something genuinely special emerge. The result is a range of wines that feel both timeless and completely alive: full of regional character, made with care and absolutely built for enjoying. There's no pretension here, just a quiet confidence that comes from knowing your land, your craft and exactly what makes a great bottle of wine. The sort of producer that makes you want to learn Italian, book a flight and never come back.

Pairing guide
We all love a bottle of pink fizz with our lunch, and this characterful bottle of Italian sparkling wine manages to balance a crisp vibrancy with utterly delicious soft fruit flavours. It’s a gorgeous pairing for charcuterie of all kinds, fresh tomato salads, spicy prawns, pasta dishes and fried Mediterranean treats like ham and cheese croquetas or cheesy arancini. Crab cakes, fritto misto, prawn fritters and even berry-based desserts will also hit the high notes!

Friuli, Italy
Friuli is a wine region located in the northeastern part of Italy, near the border with Slovenia. The region is known for producing a variety of wine styles, including white, red, and sparkling wines. The white wines of Friuli are often made from grape varieties such as Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay, and are known for their crisp, aromatic character. Friuli is also home to a number of indigenous grape varieties, such as Tocai Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, which are used to produce distinctive white wines. The red wines of Friuli are typically made from grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Refosco, and are known for their elegance and finesse. Friuli has a unique climate, with cool nights and warm days, which helps to preserve the acidity in the grapes and produces wines with a refreshing character.
