Details
This is a dark and earthy GSM blend from Vallon aux Galets, with a balance of fruit and oak, layered with depth. This is a smoky wine that is screaming for some charred meat.

The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée, which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country, and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also employs sommeliers to taste each wine and confirm it captures the all-important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine, and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted a wide range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality of each bottle. Vallon aux Galets is one of their premium wineries located in Côtes du Rhône, highlighting expressions of Grenache.

Pairing guide
Generous and gently spiced, Vallon aux Galets shows ripe red berries, plum, and hints of pepper and herbs in a classic Grenache-led Rhône style. Its smooth texture and savoury warmth make it a natural match for roast lamb, grilled sausages, or herb-rubbed chicken. It also pairs beautifully with Mediterranean favourites like ratatouille, tomato-based pasta, or vegetable tian. For relaxed meals, try it with charcuterie, pizza topped with olives and peppers, or a wedge of semi-hard cheese. An easygoing southern French red made for shared tables and comforting, flavourful dishes.

Wine region
Côtes du Rhône, France
Côtes du Rhône is a wine-growing region located in the southern part of France, along the Rhône river. It is known for its warm, Mediterranean climate and diverse range of soils, which produce a wide variety of wines. The region is most famous for its red wines, which are made from grape varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. These wines are known for their rich, spicy flavours and their ability to age well. In addition to red wines, Côtes du Rhône also produces white and rosé wine. The region is home to many small, family-run wineries, as well as some of the oldest and most prestigious estates in France. The wines of Côtes du Rhône are labelled with the region's name, often followed by the name of the subregion or village where the grapes were grown. For example, a wine labelled "Côtes du Rhône-Villages" must come from one of the designated villages within the region, and must adhere to certain quality standards.
