Vallebelbo Winery, located in the heart of Piedmont, is a cooperative winery with a fun mix of traditional values and modern winemaking techniques. Founded in the 1950s, it brings together over 160 growers across 500 hectares of vineyards – making it a pretty sizeable operation! They’re big on community, with all the growers working together to highlight the best that Piedmont has to offer. Their winemaking philosophy is all about letting the grapes speak for themselves. Vallebelbo is known for showcasing Piedmont’s signature varietals, like Moscato, Barbera, and Dolcetto, with a focus on high quality in the cellar. They believe in giving their grapes room to shine while using just enough modern tech to ensure consistency and quality. Vallebelbo is also famous for its Moscato d’Asti – that lightly sparkling, sweet white wine perfect for summer sipping. And here’s a fun fact: they produce over 4 million bottles a year! Despite their size, they maintain a strong local identity, rooted in the unique terroir of the Langhe hills.

Pairing guide
Those Italians certainly know how to satisfy when it comes to sparkling wine! This beautiful bottle is a wonderful addition to any lunch date or dinner party, and will pair brilliantly with delicate sea bass or other white fish dishes, platters of freshly grilled seafood, and coastal Italian favourites such as shellfish risotto, spaghetti vongole and fritto misto. Loaded fries are a less elegant but equally delicious option, and it’s also great with apple, pear and apricot-based desserts. What’s not to love?
