Details
Dark cherries, black plums, and stewed blackberries take centre stage here, layered with rosemary, thyme, and a touch of tomato leaf for a herbaceous lift. Notes of chocolate, black pepper, and subtle savoury, meaty undertones add depth, while good acidity and silky tannins keep it balanced. The finish shows soft vanilla and warm sweet spices, giving a gentle impression of sweetness and a lingering, complex character.

Valle Secreto is the vision of two families who set out to create wines of exceptional character in one of Chile’s most privileged landscapes. Founded in 2007 in the Alto Cachapoal Valley, just south of Santiago, the boutique winery combines a respect for nature’s generosity with an unwavering focus on quality - from vineyard to glass. Here, modern facilities blend with the romance of history, and the kindness of the climate allows the vines to express the purity and depth of their origin. Each bottle captures the soul of the Andes, where altitude, sunlight, and cool mountain air shape wines of elegance, balance, and unmistakable identity. Innovative yet grounded in tradition, Valle Secreto unites viticulture and tourism to create a complete sensory experience. Led by the Puntí Ferrer and Berndt Cramer families, and later joined by American partner Richard Samale, the project reflects a shared dream - to craft distinctive wines that embody the spirit of the valley. Today, Valle Secreto stands as one of Chile’s most exciting boutique producers, celebrated for its authenticity, its harmony with nature, and its ability to reveal the quiet magic of Cachapoal in every glass.

Pairing guide
This layered, savoury red is fantastic with roast lamb with rosemary and garlic, braised beef with black pepper and thyme, or game stews with root vegetables and tomato. For a vegan option, try roasted portobello mushrooms with herbed lentils and tomato compote, or eggplant and red pepper ragu with fresh thyme - dishes that highlight the wine’s dark fruit, herbal notes, and gentle spice.
