Details
This is fresh, clean and crisp. It's a typical Sicilian blend of the local Catarratto and the more national Pinot Grigio. Crystalline orchard fruits dominate here. This is a wine of clarity and subtle herbal tones.

To say that Sicily has a rich history would be a dramatic understatement. For over 3,000 years wine has been an integral part of Sicilian culture and the Santa Tresa winery has been central to that story. Since 1697, these guys have resided in Ragusa, in the island's southeastern quadrant. The story romantically goes that a monk was searching for water during a drought and happened upon a statue of Santa 'Teresa'. It was here that he started digging for water and found what he was looking for. Subsequently, this water well site serviced local townships for centuries that followed. The modern Santa Tresa winery is an impressive one. All of their wines are certified organic and they consider this to be more of a way of life instead of a box-ticking, commercial exercise. The team also champions of biodiversity and promotes the co-habitation of a diverse range of wildlife, flora and fauna across their estate. This is a modern Sicilian outfit steeped in rich history.

Pairing guide
We were mightily impressed by the bright, crisp and clean character of this white blend, once again proving that Sicily is very much having its time in the spotlight when it comes to utterly brilliant winemaking. This is a truly versatile bottle - perfect for pairing with lighter pasta dishes and couscous creations, white fish like cod or pollock in a creamy sauce, seared scallops with bacon, or prawn skewers with a bit of chilli spice. Risotto and arancini, soft goat’s cheese, stuffed chicken breast and turkey salads will also hit the high notes in style.

Wine region
Sicily, Italy
Sicily is a productive island located in the Mediterranean Sea, off the southern coast of Italy. The island has a varied landscape, with low coastal plains to hills and even active volcanic mountains. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Disease pressure is low thanks to drying coastal breezes making the region ideal for organic farming practices. The soils are volcanic, sandy, and clay. Sicily can be divided into three wine regions, including the volcanic Etna DOC on the eastern side of the island, known for its red wines made from the Nerello Mascalese grape. The Marsala DOC on the island's western side is known for its fortified wines. The remaining Southeast of the Island produces a range of wines, notably Frappato and Nero d’Avola.
