Details
70% Fernão Pires blends with 30% Arinto here. The latter is an increasingly important grape across Portugal, famed for its piercing acidity, crucial for freshness. Notes of lemon and pine leap from the glass, complimenting a bitter accent from top to bottom. Subtle, mineral, delicious.

Terras do Sado wines come from the beautiful Setúbal Peninsula in Portugal, where sun-drenched vineyards and ocean breezes create perfect conditions for winemaking. These wines are a mix of local tradition and modern flair, with grapes like Castelão and Fernão Pires, both local heroes and international varieties like Syrah and Chardonnay making the cut. The reds tend to be bold, and full of ripe berry and spice, while the whites are crisp and refreshing, with citrusy, tropical vibes. And let’s not forget the famed Moscatel de Setúbal, a sweet, fortified wine that's all about those lush honey and orange blossom notes—a real treat for dessert lovers! Terras do Sado wines are like a trip to this peninsula in a bottle, capturing the laid-back coastal charm and rich history of the region.

Pairing guide
We’ve been championing beautiful Portuguese white wines for some time now, and we’re delighted by the fact that Fernão Pires is becoming more and more commonplace on wine lists in our part of the world. This gorgeously crisp bottle is sure to satisfy the senses, and it’s a beautiful choice for serving alongside grilled oily fish like mackerel and sardines, saltfish recipes, seafood rice, and spicy peri-peri chicken. Vegetable stir-fry creations, crispy tofu, curried turkey and green salads are also never a bad idea with a wine like this one!

While the sandy soils of the Setubal Peninsula, which produce fresh and aromatic Arinto, Fernão Pires, and Antão Vaz. Setubal’s repertoire also includes Moscatel de Setubal, which is made from fortified Muscat grape (Muscat of Alexandria). Moscatel de Setubal is known for its rich amber colour, complex aromas of dried fruits, honey, and spices, and a characteristic sweetness on the palate. A bit of an after-dinner treat!
