Details
Verdicchio is responsible for some of the great white wines of Italy and the 'Nativo' from Pieralisi is no exception. This beauty is packed full of notes of green apples, grassy character and white spice. This is lean, direct and tart, with superb focus and concentration of citrus flavour and minerality.

Tenute Pieralisi operate in Italy's Marche wine region. This part of the world is home to a number of classic wine styles, but none more so than Verdicchio, one of Italy's greatest white wine stories. Maiolati Spontini founded the Monte Schiavo winery in the mid-1970s and out of that estate, Tenute Pieralisi was born and Spontini and co have taken the winery to cult status in the Marche. Guided by their deep, loving respect for the natural environment, Tenute Pieralisi is a fully organic operator as well as producing an entirely vegan portfolio. The Marche region is stunning; it can be found in eastern-central Italy between rolling hills to the west and the jaw-droppingly beautiful Adriatic coastline to the east. The team cultivate over 100 hectares of vineyards and around 75 hectares of olive and walnut trees with a core focus on regenerative agriculture and biodiversity.

Pairing guide
When it comes to bright and beautiful Italian white wines, you really can’t beat a quality Verdicchio. We love pairing this wine with slightly more decadent dishes of chicken with truffle and cream sauce, cheese and potato combos and richer seafood creations, but it’s also going to be absolutely delicious with seafood pasta or rice dishes, cacio e pepe, smoked salmon, flatfish like plaice or brill, and especially with dishes slathered in homemade pesto sauce.

Wine region
Marche, Italy
You’ll find the Marche wine region in central Italy, stretching along the eastern coast - bordering to popular Tuscany, Emilia-Romagna, Umbria and Abruzzo - Got your bearings? Marche is known for producing indigenous varieties like Trebbiano, Verdicchio, Montepulciano, and Sangiovese. The region is cradled by the Apennine Mountains, enjoys a consistent Mediterranean climate, and its proximity to the Adriatic Sea provides ideal conditions for sustainable viticulture! Some of the most famous wines from this region include Oasi degli Angeli Kurni and Villa Bucci Verdicchio. The Marche wine region also boasts a long winemaking heritage that spans thousands of years with influences from Etruscans, Romans and Lombards way back when!
