Details
This is textbook Aussie Shiraz, laden with notes and aromas of black cherry, spice and pepper. Enjoy a slightly confected, Haribo quality to the fruit here, making this wine seriously approachable and just good fun to drink!
Origin: The first recognised wines were made in the Rhône Valley and south-eastern France. Mainly Grown In: One of the world’s leading grapes, it is found in France, Australia, the USA, Argentina and South Africa. Key Facts: Shiraz (or Syrah) is a world-beater. Starting small in the southern reaches of France, it has spread to all corners of the world and is known for producing some of the world’s great red wines, capable of perfume, power and persistence. Wines made and labelled as 'Shiraz' are luscious and fruity, loaded with plum, raisin and plenty of oaky richness. European or cooler climate expressions are often labelled as and referred to as 'Syrah', these can be more savoury and tend towards flavours of olive, black cherry and pepper. Both are equally delicious and are simply a matter of taste! Fun Fact: When Syrah first came to Australia it was called Shiraz. Since then, "Shiraz" has built such a good reputation, that other countries have begun to call their "Syrah" Shiraz too!

Pairing guide
Whatever the weather is doing outside our windows, we always know a good glass of Shiraz is going to provide no shortage of comfort and satisfaction. This release from Record Sun is a stunning food pairing wine - it’s got all the richness and depth required to match up with some of our favourite dishes. Our recommendations? Hearty stews and casseroles with spicy components like chorizo, barbecued or grilled jerk chicken, or homely bean and lentil hotpots with warming spices and aromatic herbs. It’s a great wine to reach for alongside a Sunday roast, and it’s not half bad with family favourites like chilli con carne and lasagna, too.
