Details
This is a clean, citrus-driven white showing notes of ripe lemon, grapefruit, and a twist of lime peel alongside soft floral hints of honeysuckle. It’s dry and refreshing, with mouthwatering acidity and a lightly waxy texture balanced by flavours of apple, pear, and a touch of dried herbs. It's zesty and bright - a real crowd pleaser!
Origin: Spain. Mainly Grown In: The central-northern Spanish region of Rueda. Also in small amounts in the USA. Key Facts: Verdejo is the pride and joy of Rueda, in the northern part of Spain. Here it achieves its ultimate expression - nutty, rich and aromatic. It's a real chameleon of a grape, having some characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc (with both grapes' grassy and high in acidity), but also some richer, rounder tones. Look out for complex flavours of bay leaf, almond and lemon. Whilst the acidity can be bright and tangy, there's always plenty of depth to the wines, meaning they have a really lovely texture - soft and even creamy sometimes. A really lovely expression that deserves more attention! Fun Fact: Verdejo grapes originated in North Africa and were brought to Spain around 1100AD.

Pairing guide
Bright and refreshing, this wine pairs beautifully with Mediterranean-inspired fare. Think pan-seared sea bass with fennel and orange, or a light summer salad with golden apple, shaved parmesan, and a lemon dressing. For a vegan option, serve it alongside a pea and mint risotto or roasted courgettes with a drizzle of herb oil - the wine’s crisp acidity and gentle honeyed notes bring out the sweetness of seasonal vegetables while keeping the pairing effortlessly elegant.
