Details
This Elgin Chenin is giving apple, pear, white peach and pineapple with bright lemon and nectarine - then a luscious, creamy depth of vanilla, honey and chamomile rolls through, underpinned by a cool flash of flint and salt. It's rich, complex, completely gorgeous.
Off The Record started as exactly that - a secret. Bobby Wallace and his brother were both full-time employees of other wine brands when they spotted some rare Elgin Chenin Blanc grapes for sale. The winemaking, tasting and bottling? All done after hours. The name wasn't just clever, it was literally true. Fast-forward a few vintages and the secret very much got out. Elgin is one of South Africa's coolest and most exciting wine regions, and Bobby's approach - minimal intervention, single vineyards, wild yeast, the best possible grapes - made people sit up and take notice. Small batches, big ambition, zero compromises.

Pairing guide
This one’s made for roast veggies, nutty sauces, and creamy pastas. Try it with butternut squash ravioli, grilled halloumi, or risotto with lemon and parmesan. It's versatile, mellow, and built for dishes that have richness without overpowering flavours. Also sneaky good with roast chicken and a buttery side of greens.
