Details
You can often tell Torrontes from across the room. This is pretty typical; with top notes of lychee and elderflower, it shows restraint, with freshness through lime leaf and excellent acidity. A modern style Torrontes, favouring freshness over aromatics.
Mauricio Lorca is particularly well known for his slightly maverick approaches, such as the rejection of oaking - most of his wines are completely unoaked, in an attempt to let the natural flavours of his grapes shine through. This philosophy of keeping things simple and direct is at the source of his whole operation, and the results speak for themselves. Think of him as a jazzman of the wine world - taking skill and precision, then using improvisation and instinct to pick out notes you wouldn't have expected or imagined. Lorca has been making waves in the world of South American wine for some time now, having been a consultant winemaker at several Argentine and Chilean wineries where he oversaw the production of some truly stunning bottles. The Bodega Lorca is a relatively recent development, one which has given him the opportunity to create distinctive, fun, highly drinkable wines through the exploration of his instincts and intuition, along with his years of experience and expertise.

Pairing guide
We’ve been singing the praises of Torrontes wines for years - there’s something about this vibrant white wine style that immediately transports us to sunny terraces and beachfront memories! We loved this wine with exotic dishes like Thai coconut curry, Goan fish recipes, grilled seafood with lemongrass, lime and chilli, and anything combining fish, white meat or tofu with plenty of coriander and ginger in the mix. It’s also excellent for pairing with grilled seafood, green salads and spicy peri-peri chicken. Fantastic!

Mendoza, Argentina
Mendoza is Argentina's premier wine region which is located in the foothills of the Andes mountains. Mendoza is located 1000 km inland from Buenos Aires and is closer to Santiago, the capital of Chile. The region is famed for Malbec, which accounts for 20% of the variety planted in the country, yet also produces high quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and the native grape variety, Torrontés.
