Details
This is sunshine in a bottle — lightly cloudy, gently fizzy, and packed with citrusy charm. Expect notes of green apple, lemon sherbet, wildflowers, and a touch of fresh bread dough from the bottle ferment. The bubbles are soft and playful, giving just the right amount of sparkle. Dry, zesty, and slightly wild, it’s the kind of wine that turns an ordinary afternoon into a garden party.
Tucked into the undulating hills of Alt Camp, a quiet subregion of Catalunya, Mascorrubí Heretat is a small family-run estate dedicated to reviving the old ways — both in grape growing and winemaking. The estate has been in the Mascorrubí family for generations, and today it's run with a firm belief in biodynamic farming, indigenous varieties, and minimal intervention winemaking. Their specialty? Montonega — a rare white grape that’s genetically linked to Parellada (one of the three traditional Cava grapes), but grown here in higher-altitude vineyards where it develops more aromatic intensity and natural acidity. Instead of using it for base wine in Cava, Mascorrubí lets Montonega shine on its own, producing a vibrant, textured Pétillant Naturel (Pét Nat) using the Ancestral Method — an ancient approach where fermentation finishes in the bottle, capturing a delicate sparkle without added sugar or dosage.Everything here is about balance — between tradition and innovation, wildness and control, nature and nurture. These wines are made with no shortcuts, no additives, and plenty of patience. The result? A sparkling wine that feels alive, expressive, and deeply connected to its Catalan roots.

Perfect with aperitivo snacks — think marcona almonds, olives, or pan con tomate. It’s also a dream with sushi, fried chicken, or anything salty and crisp. For a fresh twist, try it with a citrus salad or grilled peach and burrata. Plenty of flexibility here, and lots to enjoy. This pét nat is here to make your snacks sparkle and your brunches boogie.
