Details
Made from 100% Grenache Blanc, the 'Blanc de l'Oeuf' is a stunner. This is clean, natural winemaking 101. The nose is dominated by vibrant notes of fresh pears, honey and stone fruit. This is a textured wine with a beautiful vein of acidity and a delightful herbal, almost thyme accent on the finish.
You'd be hard-pushed to find a more clinical, natural expression of wine from France's Languedoc than the quite outstanding portfolio of wine on offer from Mas des Caprices. This is a biodynamic, minimal intervention operation crafting some of the purest, most elegant wines we have tasted for quite some time. Alsatian couple Pierre and Mireille Mann decided to leave their restaurant behind in 2003 and pursue a career in winemaking, moving south to Fitou and establishing Mas des Caprices. Many of their wines are declassified away from the Fitou or Corbieres appellation, given the fact that these require the Carignan grape variety to be used as the dominant blending component. Their range of wines is nothing short of stunning and we are over the moon to welcome them into the Good Pair Days family. These are easy, accessible natural wines, perfect for any wine drinker looking to delve into the category in search of approachability.

Pairing guide
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: we love a great bottle of Grenache Blanc. While there are many reasons why, its versatility when it comes to pairing with delicious dishes is right up there on the list. We adore this wine with spring chicken dishes - especially when there’s crispy chicken skin involved - and with casseroles and rice dishes featuring white meat and plenty of herbs. Fried and breaded fish and seafood (especially scallops), turkey burgers, asparagus salads, artichokes, peas with goat’s cheese, and even spiced pink lamb will be brilliant here.

Wine region

Languedoc, France
The Languedoc wine region is located in the south of France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is the largest wine-producing region in France and is known for its wide variety of wine styles, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling. As a younger region, Languedoc has less restrictive wine growing laws making it a virtual oasis for progressive winemakers. As a result, you may find many innovative, even atypical blends in this region, that represent excellent value. Of the numerous varieties available in Languedoc Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Viognier are the stand outs. Top producers are known showcasing the unique character of the Languedoc region, including Mas de Daumas Gassac, Château de Saint-Martin, Mas Jullien, and Château d'Angles. Languedoc, watch this space!
