Details
This Crozes-Hermitage opens with ripe black and red berries, hints of violet, cracked black pepper and subtle sweet spice. On the palate it’s round, juicy and effortlessly smooth, with velvety tannins, vibrant freshness and a gently savoury edge. The finish is long, supple and moreish. This is a Northern Rhône Syrah that delivers generosity without heaviness.
Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins was founded in 2015 as a passion project between some of the Rhône Valley’s most respected names: Nicolas Jaboulet (of the legendary Jaboulet family), the Perrin family of Château de Beaucastel, winemaker Guillaume Sorrel, and viticulturist Alexandre Caso. What began as a shared love of food, friendship and terroir quickly evolved into a focused “micro-négociant” with a clear mission - to craft modern, precise wines that still feel deeply rooted in their appellations. Today, the project is led by Nicolas Jaboulet, Alexandre Caso and winemaker Benoît Busseuil. Maison Les Alexandrins represents the négociant side of the business, sourcing fruit from a trusted network of top growers across the Northern Rhône, while Domaine Les Alexandrins focuses on estate-grown fruit from Saint-Joseph and Crozes-Hermitage. Across both, the philosophy is the same: respectful viticulture, thoughtful extraction, and wines that balance freshness, generosity and finesse.

Pairing guide
This is a brilliant food wine and incredibly versatile. Classic pairings include grilled lamb, roast duck, beef short ribs, or sausage with lentils. Its soft tannins also make it great with chargrilled vegetables, mushroom stroganoff, or lentil and aubergine ragù. Vegan-friendly matches include black bean chilli, roasted squash with harissa, or herb-roasted mushrooms with polenta. Rich enough for hearty dishes, fresh enough to keep everything lively.

Wine region

Northern Rhône, France
The Northern Rhône wine region in France is known for producing some of the finest red wines in the world. Apart from Condrieu, which permits only single varietal Viognier. The reds of Northern Rhône made of a single red grape, Syrah (Shiraz). These reds can be co-fermented with white varietals Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne (up to 20%). Ever wondered why Shiraz Viognier became a thing in Australia?
Northern Rhône Stretches from Côte-Rôtie near Lyon, moving southwards to Montélimar, marking the beginning of Southern Rhône where the wines are remarkably different in style. Northern Rhône is home to Côtie-Rôtie, Condrieu, and legendary Hermitage, three of the most majestic of all of Rhône. Vineyards are primarily on steep south-east facing slopes, some gradients reaching 60% requiring monorails and pulleys to transport grapes up and downhill. Other Appellations worth noting are Chateau-Grillet, St-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, and Côtes du Rhône.
