Details
This is classic Loire Valley Cabernet Franc. We loved the unmissable leafy character at play here, with notes of tobacco leaf and violets bringing up the rear. This is chalky and mineral with bright energy and a lovely red berry accent. Delicious.
Maison Audebert & Fils is a historic wine producer in France's Loire Valley and has been synonymous with quality wine since the inception of the business in 1839 in the Bourgueil sub-region of the Valley. Naturally, these guys specialise in the cultivation of Cabernet Franc - a firm favourite of ours here at Good Pair Days Central. The family sees to over 40 hectares of prime vineyard real estate, with a meticulous approach to viticulture and careful consideration for the environment. Only wild yeasts are used during fermentation at controlled temperatures. Following fermentation, the wines are transferred to old, large oak barrels in their cellar where they age gracefully. Maison Audebert's wines are stunning examples of Loire Valley Cabernet Franc and we are delighted to welcome them to the fold here at Good Pair Days. Don't waste any time picking up a bottle.

Pairing guide
Perfectly balancing the rustic and the rarefied, this beautiful Cabernet Franc is guaranteed to impress at any dinner party. It’s the kind of wine that calls out for the best steaks you can stick on your shopping list, cooked simply with a peppery sauce or a slick of blue cheese. Lamb shanks with gravy, homemade meat and vegetable pies, duck legs and rillettes… all will hit the high notes with this wine. For vegetarian options, go for a dish of stuffed portobello mushrooms or roasted aubergine, sweet potato, jerusalem artichoke or celeriac. Delicious!
