Details
Lynus' 'Alma' wine sits in the middle of the range and spends around nine months in a combination of French and American oak. Give this one a bit of time to open up and patience will be rewarded with dark, fleshy, brooding black fruit notes that sit on top of a lovely savoury element. This is powerful and elegant at the same time, a real winner!
Bodega y Viñedos Lynus is a seriously impressive outfit operating out of one of Spain's premier wine regions: Ribera del Duero. Our winemaking team has been looking for an exclusive producer from this part of the world for some time, and has been busy tasting through several producers before settling on the sensational, boutique wines from Lynus. With vineyards based mostly on limestone soils, these are wines that are all about freshness, power and finesse, with reasonably low-intervention practice in the winery in order to let the primary fruit of Tempranillo grapes really shine through. Perhaps slightly atypical for the region, these are wines that are not so obviously oaked, relying on their natural terroir to shine through. A true boutique winery, everything at Lynus is done by hand. These are small production wines that make a big impact and we are over the moon that they are finally here in the UK. Not to be missed!

Pairing guide
The team at Lynus winery has knocked it out of the park once again with this wonderful Tempranillo, showcasing the quality of their vines and their masterful touch with expressive vinification. The result is an absolute champ of a food-pairing wine, and one that’s great with chorizo and other smoky, paprika-spiked delights like ‘nduja and classic stews like goulash. Sweet potato and other autumnal vegetables tend to work well here, and you’ll also get wonderful results with cheesy polenta, braised lentils and vegetarian chilli.
