Details
Tempranillo with a touch of Garnacha (Grenache). Ripe red and black fruit notes here. This is an honest, unpushed wine, all about that primary ripe fruit and a touch of tar and smoke on the nose. Enjoy with a bit of Tapas!

Origin: Rioja, in central-northern Spain. Mainly Grown In: All over Spain and a bit in Australia. Key Facts: Imagine taking the classic variety Tempranillo darkening the fruit spectrum and polishing off some of the rustic edges. Making it whip-smart, tightening things up and making it into a flashy young thing. That's essentially what these blends are - they have the soul of Tempranillo, but they set off on a different path, a path that is equally delicious, just a little bit different. Loads of spicy, berry-fruit muskiness here, tied up with mouth-filling tannins. Sometimes richer, sometimes lighter, always good drinking. Fun Fact: In Portugal, Tempranillo is known by two other names: Tinta Roriz and Arragonez.

Pairing guide
We’ve been huge Tempranillo fans for as long as we can remember, and this gorgeously flavourful bottle does nothing but deepen our love for Spain’s signature red wine variety. It’s a top-notch vino to pair with your favourite combos of red meat, smoked chillies and paprika - everything from a beef and chipotle one-pot wonder to a meaty paella, Moroccan lamb tagine or Hungarian goulash will tick all the right boxes with this one. Cassoulet, bacon and black pudding combos, strong cheeses, polenta or corn with sage and parmesan, homemade beef or bean burgers, or spaghetti and meatballs will also provide excellent matches to enjoy.

Wine region
Rioja, Spain
Rioja (riˈouhɑ) is one of Spain’s most well-known wine regions, located in the north of Spain. The region has a long history of making wine that dates back to the period of the Roman Empire. The climate is typically Mediterranean with hot summers and cool winters which suits the varieties of Rioja; Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano. Graciano almost became extinct due to the effects of phylloxera in the late 1800s however, luckily, the variety is back in full swing. There are three main classifications of wine according to their ageing process- Crianza, Reserve and Gran Reserva.
