Details
Another tip of the hat to just how versatile Chardonnay can really be! This unoaked style is alive with notes of green apple, ripe melon and mango aromas. It is as clean as a whistle, with lovely taut, crisp acidity with a touch of warmth that one expects from the south of France. The texture is soft and silky, with excellent purity of fruit from top to bottom.
La Reverence is another project between David Rowledge of Alchemy wines and the talented Boris Kovac. The idea behind this range is to produce friendly, pure and approachable single-variety wines that are an excellent showcase of not only the varietal but the parts of southern France in which they hail from. The duo have outstanding and long-lasting relationships with a number of high-quality growers from the region stretching from Nezingnan L’eveque (East of Beziers) to Limoux (west of Carcassonne) and St Hippolite in the south near Perpignan. These longstanding connections give them access to high-quality grapes and allow them to make wines that punch above their weight. Boris is a true artist with his winemaking skills and knowledge of the region and he is very much sought after in the Languedoc as he works with a number of growers and brands to bring their wines to life.

Pairing guide
La Reverence have done a stirling job with this characterful Chardonnay, which perfectly encapsulates the racy and refreshing character of their wonderful grapes. We love this wine with avocado and smoked salmon classics, but it’s a top pairing for creamy pasta sauces, such as family favourites like carbonara, and with pork and cheese combos or meaty white fish.

Wine region

Pays d'Oc, France
Pays d'Oc is a wine region located in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It is known for producing a wide variety of wine styles, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling wines. The region has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters, which allows for the production of full-bodied red wines made from grape varieties such as Syrah, Grenache, and Carignan. Pays d'Oc also produces aromatic white wines made from grape varieties such as Viognier and Chardonnay, as well as crisp rosé wines made from Grenache and Cinsault. The region is known for its innovative winemaking techniques and is home to a number of small, artisanal wineries but is also one of France's most important regions in terms of its output.
