Details
We have another rosé for you from one of our favourite French wineries, with this stunner, sourced from outside the sun-drenched town of Béziers. Made from Syrah and Marselan (a hybrid cross of Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon), with a pale hue and bright summer fruit notes of watermelon and raspberry, this is your rosé you don’t have to be ashamed of drinking icy cold.
The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also has employed sommeliers to taste each wine to confirm it meets that all important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted through a large range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality in each bottle. The La Cave D'Augustin Florent range represents the focus on single regions, whether it be Cahors, Burgundy, Jurançon or Minervois, there will be something for everyone.

Pairing guide
This stunning Pays d’Oc rosé is a real delight for the senses, and bursts with a gorgeously refreshing array of soft fruit flavours and no shortage of expression. We loved pairing it with a French-inspired tuna and bean salad, but it’s going to be equally delicious with all your favourite spinach and feta or ricotta combos, seafood rice dishes or pasta creations, hunks of grilled salmon and chicken with parma ham. Tomato-based spaghetti sauce, rack of lamb served pink with capers and mint, and salty cheeses will also work brilliantly.

Wine region

Languedoc, France
The Languedoc wine region is located in the south of France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. It is the largest wine-producing region in France and is known for its wide variety of wine styles, including red, white, rosé, and sparkling. As a younger region, Languedoc has less restrictive wine growing laws making it a virtual oasis for progressive winemakers. As a result, you may find many innovative, even atypical blends in this region, that represent excellent value. Of the numerous varieties available in Languedoc Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, and Viognier are the stand outs. Top producers are known showcasing the unique character of the Languedoc region, including Mas de Daumas Gassac, Château de Saint-Martin, Mas Jullien, and Château d'Angles. Languedoc, watch this space!
