Details
This is a wonderfully pale pink rosé with a seriously cool label! There are subtle notes of mandarin and sweet strawberry on the nose that is framed by a lovely pithy citrus character. More of that lovely fresh citrus carries over faithfully to a lovely, refreshing zingy mouthfeel that has bags of acidity.
La Cantina Pizzolato are at the vanguard of organic wine in Italy's Veneto and has been farming accordingly for over four decades. The team take the stance that monoculture breeds pests, and their quest for more biodiversity in the vineyards has resulted in an influx of all sorts of flora and fauna into the estate, in particular dragonflies. It is therefore fitting, that their 'Senza Solfiti' range of wines is marked by the drawing of a dragonfly, which denotes a zero added sulphur winemaking approach. Vineyard management follows suit; the Pizzolato crew do not use any chemicals to spray their vines as they believe that in doing so, they will destroy the true nature of their soils, grapes and ultimately, their wines. Not happy with stopping at organic viticulture and winemaking, Pizzolato has also invested heavily in research projects that contribute to natural vineyard defences against certain fungal diseases that can plague vines all over the world. The result of this unwavering commitment to the circle of life is a portfolio of wines that express the natural beauty of their environment. They are rustic, honest and pure and we couldn't think of a better edition to our portfolio of wine.

Pairing guide
Who doesn’t love a rosé? Fun, flirtatious and loaded with character and irresistible drinkability, this beautiful NV wine from La Cantina is guaranteed to delight. As for food pairing, we especially love this wine with fried Indian and Asian snacks - spring rolls, samosas, pakoras and bhajis - but it’s going to be just as good with loaded fries, and fried chicken, fish ‘n’ chips and barbecue dishes. Oysters, raw and fresh vegetables, carpaccio of beef or salmon, and other elegant appetisers will also do the trick beautifully.
