Details
This is a lovely introduction to Chilean Pinot Noir from the team at Huella. The grapes have been sourced from the well suited Casablanca Valley, where Pinot Noir has definitely found a home. This wine is a touch smoky on the nose with memories of lighting a birthday cake with a pack of matches. Behind this is a nice evolution of cherries and strawberries with moderate tannin.

Viña Indómita is located in the heart of Chile wine country, with their winery located in the wine region of Casablanca as well as owning vineyards in the Central Valley region of Maipo. Casablanca is located in between Valparaiso and Santiago with stunning views of the Pacific Ocean, where you will find plenty of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir planted in this maritime dream. The Central Valley, by comparison, is a garden of Eden, with fertile soils perfect for producing a wide range of fruit and vegetables to feed the nation as well as supplying plenty of land ideal for vineyards. Viña Indómita have several labels and GPD are keen to introduce you to their Huella range where they focus on local varieties like Carménère as well as all the usual suspects from Sauvignon Blanc to Merlot. The winery is relatively new to the game, however that hasn’t stopped them focusing on tourism and wine tastings in the region.

Pairing guide
We love how versatile this delicious Pinot Noir from Indómita is when it comes to food pairing, and just how well it matches with some of our favourite dishes and ingredients. We especially enjoyed sipping this elegant red with dishes bringing together the ever-satisfying combo of sausages and beans, but it’s also going to be excellent with juicier red meats like duck and lamb. Fabulous results can be also found pairing this wine with tomato-based pasta sauces, casseroles and stews, homemade burgers, brown rice dishes, and anything making a star ingredient of eggplant, sweet potato and beetroot.
