Details
Cabernet Sauvignon is the strong, silent type – all confidence, no arrogance – and this one has its French manners down pat. Packed with dark berries, a dusting of spice, and just the right amount of grip, it’s like a well-tailored suit with a cheeky smile.

The French wine scene can be somewhat of a minefield at times, all we really want is a supplier that makes wines from all across the country while still displaying regional and sub-regional typicity.. Simple right?!? Well, enter Maison Johanès Boubée which is a winery that has succeeded in the French landscape, while relatively unknown outside its borders. The winery has access to all the goodies around the country and aside from an impressive winemaking team, it also has employed sommeliers to taste each wine to confirm it meets that all important terroir feel of each region. The winery is a nod to the old-school way, where you didn’t need to boast a fancy label to sell a bottle of wine and the juice inside is the most important part. We have tasted through a large range of their wines and are very impressed with the overall quality in each bottle. Héritage de Carillan focuses on classic varieties like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay with a vintage twist.

Pairing guide
Rich and full-bodied with dark berry fruit, hints of cedar, and a smooth finish, Héritage de Carillan Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic choice for bold, savoury dishes. Pair it with roast lamb, beef Wellington, or slow-braised short ribs. It’s also excellent with hearty stews, mushroom pie, or mature cheddar. For a more casual match, try it with gourmet burgers or chargrilled vegetable skewers—the wine’s depth brings everything together.

Wine region
Southern France, France
Also known as the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in the south of France is one of the largest wine-producing regions in the world. It is known for producing a wide variety of wines, including reds, whites, rosés, and sparkling wines. The region's Mediterranean climate and varied soil types, such as schist and limestone, impart distinct flavours and aromas to the grapes grown there. The area has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the Roman era, and is known for producing high-volume, high-quality wines. The most famous wines from Southern France are typically blends of indigenous grape varieties like Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, and Mourvèdre. The region is a popular destination for wine tourists, offering tastings, tours, and wine festivals.
