Well this is a ripe number. This is a great example of what Zinfandel from this part of the world is capable of producing. Dark fruit, cassis and ripe red berries combine with an espresso shot of coffee. If you like your reds on the slightly sweeter side of the spectrum, then this will be right up your street!

After years of back and forth and arguing, a scientific study was finally carried out by the team at U.C. Davis in America, who determined that Zinfandel is identical to Italy's Primitivo, a famous red grape coming out of Puglia in the southern part of the country. However, that is not where professionals believe the grape hails from, instead, it is thought that it made its way to Italy from Croatia, before finding a new world home in California.
