Details
This expressive blend of 80% Shiraz and 20% Grenache Noir spent 10 months in a mix of old and new oak, adding subtle complexity to its vibrant fruit core. Juicy red and black cherries lead the nose, with notes of strawberry, blackberry, and a touch of pepper spice and dried herbs. On the palate, ripe fruit is balanced by hints of cedar, clove, and a touch of green pepper spice adding savoury depth. Elegant and dry, with a medium body and a lifted, fresh finish.
Mike Graham isn’t just a winemaker - he’s a bit of a legend in South African wine circles. With over 40 harvests under his belt (and a few extra stints in France for good measure), he’s practically part of the terroir himself. Mike’s Forager wines are the result of decades spent roaming the vineyards of the Western Cape, sniffing out small, special parcels of fruit that others might overlook. These aren’t your average blends - they’re curated collections, assembled like a winemaker’s mixtape, each component bringing its own rhythm and flavour to the final track. Whether it’s a standout barrel or a hidden hillside vineyard, Mike knows exactly where to look - and how to coax out the best from what he finds. Behind the Forager label is African Pride Wines, a tight-knit team founded in 2002 with a mission to deliver characterful, honest wines that overdeliver on quality and price. With wines now in over 30 countries and a production of just over 100,000 cases annually, it’s a boutique outfit with global reach. Mike, both shareholder and chief winemaking wizard, is hands-on from grape to glass - blending, bottling, and ensuring every vintage stays true to its South African roots. He’s judged around the world, helped shape the early days of the ‘flying winemaker’ movement, and even worked with icons like Louis Roederer and Joseph Drouhin. In short? He’s the real deal - and Forager is his passion project in full bloom.

Pairing guide
This juicy, spice-driven Shiraz-Grenache blend is a natural match for Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Think lamb koftas with herbed yoghurt, grilled chorizo with roasted red peppers, or a smoky aubergine and tomato bake. The wine’s ripe fruit and gentle oak notes also pair beautifully with a chargrilled mushroom burger or a spicy pulled pork taco topped with pickled onions. For a veggie option, try it with roasted root vegetables tossed in olive oil and za’atar - perfect for bringing out the wine’s herbal and peppery edge.
