Details
This rosé is made from 100% Merlot grapes from the flagship estate in Abruzzo. Super pale in colour; this wine displays excellent purity of crystalline orchard fruit with a lovely depth and oily texture on the palate. We have notes of pink peppercorn and bitters that come through on a finish that is bright and alive with so much freshness.

Fantini Farnese is part of the larger Farnese group of wineries that was launched in the mid-1990s by Valentino Sciotti with the aim of producing high-quality wines from their home region of Abruzzo. As such, the Fantini estate is widely considered the home of the group, but thanks to Sciotti's endeavour and ambition, the Farnese group have extended their reach across Italy, furnishing some of the country's most beautiful landscapes with grapes and working with one of the country's most celebrated winemakers, Alberto Antonini. They have established outstanding posts across south Italy and Sicily including Campania, Puglia, Tuscany and Basilicata. We can't not mention the famous headquarters of the Farnese group, which are holed up in a 16th Century castle in Caldora - work goals! Quality and attention to detail are at the heart of everything that Farnese does; they distribute their wines to over 70 markets worldwide, and whilst they can't be considered a 'boutique' outfit, they certainly work as though they were one, crafting quite fabulous wines using the indigenous grapes found in each region that they operate.

Pairing guide
Mmm - we’re absolutely in love with this blushing Sicilian wine, which perfectly captures all that sunshine and coastal quality we simply can’t get enough of. This is a rosé that’s ideal for pairing with simple grilled fish dishes, squid or octopus salads, and with all kinds of charcuterie. Spicy sausages, chicken or fish risotto, arancini and salty cheeses will all pair beautifully here, as will chicken tagine and couscous with pomegranate and herbs.
